Thalabarivat Resort

The Thalabarivat Resort is situated in Thalabarivat District, 4 km from the provincial town.

The resort boasts the Preah Ko Temple erected of red brick during the reign of King Jayavarman I between the 7th century and the 8th century. In front of the temple, there is a statue of Preah Ko (sacred cow) available in Cambodia. Next to it, the terrace having an area of 10 sq m is reserved for a shield fight held before the Khmer New Year. The game is played for 4 days and 3 nights in conjunction with the festival of the Kuoy ethnic minority. It starts at 2 o’clock in the afternoon and lasts for 2 hours. Besides, many other ruined temples, such as Prasat Prambuon Lvèng, Prasat Srei, etc can be seen nearby. After visiting this resort, tourists can also proceed to Preah Vihear Province across Sékong River and Mekong River.
